Ludhiana transporter, close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, destroyed phone after Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder: Police

Ludhiana: Baldev Chaudhary alias Kaku, a Ludhiana-based transporter who is also the close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, had destroyed his mobile phone on the day Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala was killed by the shooters, said police.
Chaudhary is a close friend of Bishnoi who would take care of Bishnoi’s mother. He also used to take the gangster’s mother to Tihar jail to meet her son, said police.
30-year-old Baldev Chaudhary of Kali Sadak was arrested by the Ludhiana Police on June 19 in connection with an assault case. During the police interrogation, he revealed his links with Bishnoi and that he was in contact with gangster Goldy Brar, one of the key accused in the Moose Wala murder case, through that phone, as per a Hindustan Times report.
Chaudhary was near the Shambhu border on May 29, the day singer Sidhu Moose Wala was murdered, when he asked his aide Mani to destroy his phone and dump it in a nullah. However, no direct links of Chaudhary have been established with the murder of Moose Wala till now, said police.
Based on the information divulged by Chaudhary during the interrogation, police have Mani and his aide Ninder.
Police said Chaudhary was accompanied by Ninder when he had gone to get weapons from Jaskaran Singh alias Karan of Bhadson of Patiala. Two illegal weapons and 11 live cartridges were already recovered from Chaudhary, reported Hindustan Times.
Chaudhary was also found in the CCTVs installed at a petrol pump in Bathinda with some suspects in a Toyota Fortuner before the murder of Moose Wala, police officials said.
Inspector Beant Juneja at CIA staff-2 said that interrogation is underway to divulge more important information from the accused.
Based on the information provided by Chaudhary, police have arrested 21-year-old Kabaddi player Jaskaran Singh alias Karan of Bhadson of Patiala for supplying illegal weapons to him on June 24. Karan was in contact with Goldy Brar over the phone and used to supply weapons to criminals, reported Hindustan Times.
