Rajasthan: Woman murders husband to get Rs 50 lakh insurance money

The family alleges that Sharda wanted to kill her husband, so she had also gotten life an insurance of Rs 30 lakh in the name of Nemaram. Complete planning was done to raise the claim by disposing of the husband. She also reportedly broke her husband's legs by beating him.

Jaipur: Greedy over insurance claim, a woman killed her husband in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan. Not only this, she used to torture him to get hold of his property and three years ago she had also got land worth Rs 50 lakhs in her name.
She also reportedly broke her husband's legs by beating him. The case is of Kurdaya village of Merta police station area of Nagaur district. Police has arrested the killer wife and she has confessed his crime, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
The family alleges that the woman committed murder only to get an insurance claim of Rs 50 lakh. She often tortured her husband. It is said that Nemaram Makad (57) was having a dispute with his wife Sharda (47) over the property for three years.
The couple have a son and daughter. Three months back, Sharda had insured Rs 30 lakh in her husband's name. A pickup was also taken for the son, which was financed for Rs 20 lakh.
Three years ago, Sharda had also got 15 bighas of Nemaram's land in her name. Since then she was plotting to kill him. There was a dispute between the two. Police said that Nemaram reached home after drinking alcohol around 12 noon on Tuesday.
When Sharda interrupted, there was an altercation between the two.
The matter escalated so much that Nemaram beat up his wife. He became unconscious while beating his wife. Meanwhile, Sharda killed Nemaram by strangulation.
Three months ago, Sharda had taken a loan of Rs 20 lakh for tractor and pickup in the name of husband Nemaram. When the new vehicle came into the house, happiness was celebrated in the house. However, little did Nemaram know that such a big conspiracy was being hatched against him after 28 years of married life.
