The Arjun Reddy star was in Hyderabad on Monday (August 15) and attended a press meet in the city. During the interaction, he shared how he bagged his first Bollywood film and opened up about the time when Karan had offered him a film.
He revealed that at that point in time when KJo offered him a Bollywood film, he was "not ready". He said, "After watching Arjun Reddy, Karan Johar offered me to do a Bollywood film, then I was not ready, and now, we approached with Liger as it has the pan-India appeal. He supported us well in every aspect."
On Sunday (August 14), Vijay Deverakonda was in Chennai for the promotions of Liger. The actor made heads turn with his dapper look in black lungi paired with a white t-shirt and a leather jacket.
During the event in Chennai, he opened up about his character and said, "My character in the film has a stammering problem and that made it more interesting. On one hand, he is the guy who is physically so strong and intimidating to others, he is a fighter, but he can't even utter the simple three words 'I love you' to the girl he loves."
Talking about Liger, Vijay essays the role of an MMA fighter, who struggles with stammering issues and Ananya Panday plays the role of his love interest. The film also features Ronit Roy as his coach and Ramya Krishna as his mother and legendary boxer Mike Tyson in a cameo role.
Helmed by Puri Jagannath and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the film has been simultaneously shot in Hindi and Telugu. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on August 25.
