Shah Rukh Khan plays a dreaded gangster or RAW agent in Atlee's next? Watch Jawan teaser for hints

The details about Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and South actress Nayanthara's much-awaited film are finally out! Helmed by Atlee, the movie has been titled Jawan. Check out the actor's announcement post inside.

It has been a good few days for the fans of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and now, another exciting news is here! The makers of SRK's one of the most upcoming films have finally made the big announcement. The actor's next with popular Tamil director Arun Kumar, popularly known as Atlee, has been titled Jawan. The film also features actress Nayanthara.

On Friday, Shah Rukh's production house Red Chillies Entertainment took to Instagram to tease a major announcement. "We know, you have been waiting and it’s almost here! See you at 2 PM," they wrote and left already-excited fans curious. And then came the official announcement.

Featuring SRK in a never-seen-before avatar, the promo gives a sneak peek into the much-hyped film. Sharing it, they wrote, "When @iamsrk and @atlee47 come together, it’s bound to blow your mind. Get ready for the action entertainer #Jawan, in cinemas on 2nd June 2023! Releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada." Check it out here

While further details are still awaited, reports say that SRK will be seen playing a gangster and a RAW officer. Yes, you heard that right! The superstar reportedly has a double role in the thriller film. Meanwhile, Nayanthara will also be seen as an officer. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra of Dangal fame.

Talking about the film, Shah Rukh Khan said, “Jawan is a universal story that goes beyond languages, geographies and is for all to enjoy. Credit goes to Atlee for creating this unique film, which has also been a fantastic experience for me as I love action films! The teaser is the just tip of the iceberg and gives a glimpse into what’s to come."

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in the 2018 film Zero. After a four year-long hiatus, he is all set to spread his magic on the silver screen again. He also has two other projects in the pipeline - Pathaan, an action thriller also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, and Rajkumar Hirani's next Dunki.

Backed by YRF, Pathaan is being helmed by director Siddharth Anand. It is all set to hit the screens on January 25, 2023. Meanwhile, Dunki has been slated for a Christmas 2023 release.
