Delhi: The Delhi-Gurugram expressway was flooded after heavy rainfall in Gurugram today caused waterlogging. The motorist on the stretch faced traffic snarls while some people were seen walking in knee-deep water.
Motorists struggled to drive on the inundated stretch.
The severe waterlogging on the expressway has disrupted normal lifein Gurugram's Narsinghpur area.
Moreover, a section of the expressway also faced traffic jams yesterday.
The carriageway of the Hero, Honda Chowk (HHC) flyover will be closed for the next six days, for span load testing, due to this, the traffic was jammed on a 4.7 km stretch of the Jaipur-Delhi side of the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway between 8.30 am and 1.30 pm on Wednesday.
The 4.7 kilometers-long section, which normally takes around 10 minutes to pass, took commuters almost 45 minutes on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, sustained spells of light to moderate rain in Delhi also caused waterlogging on some roads in the city. The Traffic police issued alerts on some stretches.
A road cave-in incident near Satya Niketan has also affected traffic movement from Mahatma Gandhi Marg from Moti Bagh Junction towards Dhaula Kuan.
More showers are likely to continue to be seen in the Delhi-NCR region for the next few days before the Monsoon starts withdrawing from the end of September.
