Ekta Kapoor defies Kangana calling Taapsee a 'sasta version' of herself, says, 'we shouldn't be pitting...'

Producer Ekta Kapoor is collaborating with Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu for the upcoming time-traveling movie Dobaaraa. The trailer of the movie was launched earlier today where Ekta was quick to react when she was questioned about Kangana's statement on Taapsee being a 'sasta version' of herself.

The trailer of Taapsee Pannu starrer Dobaaraa is out and was launched by none other than Ekta R Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap. The trailer was well received by the audience in the presence of the makers of the movie that is and Ektaa. While Taapsee couldn't attend the trailer in physical form, she came as a surprise element through a TV screen.
Ekta was questioned about Kangana Ranaut calling Taapsee Pannu a sasta version of herself. To which Ekta defied such a statement and said, "There is only one similarity, both are amazing trailblazer women and to play them against each other is not your and my job. We're women, we adjust each other's crown not remove it."
Last year Kangana Ranaut tweeted about Taapsee and called her a 'sasti actress.' She had said in a tweet, ""You will always remain sasti because you are sab rapists ka feminist... your ring master (Anurag) Kashyap was raided in 2013 as well for tax chori... government official’s report is out if you aren’t guilty go to court against them come clean on this ... come on sasti."
Ekta Kapoor has worked with both Kangana and Taapsee in women-centric movies. She has produced Judgemental Hai Kya which starred Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao. She was also the producer for Kangana's reality show Lock Upp.
Ektaa also introduced Cult Movies with Dobaaraa, a brand-new division of Balaji Motion Pictures that presents engrossing, gritty, and genre-defying tales.
The movie stars Taapsee and Pavail Gulati in pivotal roles. Rahul Bhatt, Saswata Chatterjee, Vidusshi Mehra, Sukant Goel, Nassar, Nidhi Singh, and Madhurima Roy all have significant parts in the movie. Dobaaraa is set to hit the theatres on August 19. The movie also had an opening at one of the most prestigious film festivals such as the London Film Festival & Fantasia Film Festival 2022.
