Raising questions on the condition of roads in Mumbai, the BJP has blamed Shiv Sena for it. BJP leader Nitesh Rane has launched a scathing attack and uploaded a video from suburban Borivali where he is claiming that a recently inaugurated flyover washed away in the first rain.
"The flyover at Borivali West near RM Bhat Road was inaugurated by Aaditya Thackeray on June 18. Unfortunately, the road is washed away within seven days after the first monsoon rain in Mumbai. The city will soon be witnessing heavy monsoon and I doubt such shoddy construction can withstand the heavy downpour. It is surprising that Aaditya Thackeray inaugurated such a road. It reflects shoddy construction and the deeply rooted corruption in Shiv Sena-led BMC," Rane said.
Rane also added that pitiable roads are a menace for Mumbaikars, especially during monsoon.
"The roads in Mumbai are in pitiable conditions everywhere. There are potholes everywhere or dug up at many places. It gets more troublesome in monsoons. Potholes are perennial in Mumbai and Sena which has been ruling the BMC for more than two days decades should take the blame for it. The sorry state is because of the money-making nexus between the contractors and the BMC," Rane said.
Rane has led the BJP's voice when it comes to matters related to the BMC ahead of the civic body polls. While recently he questioned the BMC for the delay in providing school bags to students, Rane had also questioned the environment minister Aaditya Thackeray for approving the Marine Lines viewing deck claiming it flouted environmental norms.
