J&K: Three misguided teenagers who were on the way to cross LoC rescued, handed over to families

According to an official statement, the three misguided boys were on their way to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara when they were apprehended by a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir police and the Army.

Kupwara, J&K: In a joint operation, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army prevented three teenagers from falling into the trap of terrorists by apprehending them from a forest area of village Kandi on Tuesday.
According to an official statement, the three misguided boys were on their way to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara.
"The three teenagers identified by the police as Nasir Ahmad Waza son of Gh Rasool Waza, Adnan Naseer Khan son of Naseer Ahmad Khan, and Umar Reyaz Sofi son of Reyaz Ahmad Sofi, all residents of Dooru Sopore were following the route which was explained to them by a surrendered terrorist of their locality," it said.
According to the officials, the teenagers appear to have been motivated by the stories of glamourisation of terrorists by the surrendered terrorist who showed them the way to reach Pakistan.
The joint operation of the Police and Army was launched when an input regarding some suspicious movement in the forest area usually followed by terrorists was received by Police, they said.
On apprehension, the matter was investigated and it was found that these teenagers seem to have been misguided and they should get a chance to lead a normal life, the officials added.
Earlier today, the Jammu and Kashmir police along with security forces arrested two terrorist associates of the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Budgam.
Incriminating materials, explosive material and ammunition were also recovered from their possession, the police informed.
The police in Budgam along with the Army (62RR) and CRPF (43Bn) at a checkpoint established in the Chandpora area of Budgam arrested two terrorist associates of the proscribed terror outfit LeT. They have been identified as Zahid Ahmad Sheikh and Sahil Bashir Dar.
