  • The star all-rounder was named CSK's captain for IPL 2022
  • However, he stepped down after the team's struggles in the first half
Ravindra Jadeja has been the talk of the town on Saturday (July 9). The star all-rounder has removed Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) posts from his Instagram page. The fans noticed the absence of CSK's post from Jadeja's page and were quite surprised by this move.
While nothing is confirmed, this could be a hint of the all-rounder probably looking to move on to some other franchise. It is to be noted that Jadeja had stepped down from captaincy during IPL 2022. He was replaced by MS Dhoni, who relinquished the job before the start of the season.
Reacting to Jadeja removing all his CSK's posts from Instagram, a franchise official has said there's nothing wrong between the cricketer and CSK.
"See, this is a personal call by him. We are not aware of such kinds of incidents from our side. All OK. Nothing is wrong," an official was quoted as saying by ANI.
CSK struggled under Jadeja's captaincy and only managed 2 wins from 8 matches. The star all-rounder only played 2 matches under Dhoni before being ruled out of the season due to a bruised rib. Jadeja made his comeback to competitive cricket on the England tour.
There's still much time left to announce the list of retained and released players and it remains to be seen if Jadeja continues his association with CSK or not. He was CSK's first-choice pick before the IPL 2022 mega auction and was paid a sum of Rs 16 crore. Dhoni was the 2nd-choice pick and had a salary of Rs 12 crore.
Jadeja has been with CSK since 2012. He played for Gujarat Lions in IPL 2016 and 2017. The all-rounder has 1440 runs and 105 wickets for the Yellow Army. He is CSK's 2nd-highest wicket-taker in IPL. The list is topped by Dwayne Bravo (140).
