New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently conducting raids in various locations of North India, including in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi NCR.
The murder of Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moose Wala is not under investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), official sources said on Monday. The clarification came after the NIA today conducted searches at 50 places across North India in the investigation of cases against activities of gangsters with international and inter-state ramifications, reported ANI.
According to sources, NIA conducted raids in 50 locations to crack down on gangs and crime syndicates running across the country. The searches are underway in multiple locations including Delhi, NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and other places in connection with a recently registered case against activities of 'terror gangs', who are involved in sensational murders to terrorise common citizens, reported ANI.
Sources said that these terror gang members are also involved in organised criminal activities like extortion and drug smuggling to finance their nefarious designs.
The NIA has filed a case against 10 members of the Neeraj Bawana and Lawrence Bishnoi gangs and is currently conducting raids at various locations to apprehend the suspects. The strict Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act will be used to charge the gangsters.
The NIA along the state police forces are conducting the raise at the Tajpur village in Delhi linked to gangster Neeraj Bawana as well as the residence of gangster Kala Rana in Haryana's Yamunanagar.
Similar searches were also carried out at gangster Vinay Deora's residence in Punjab's Faridkot. The agency also reached Amritsar and Kotkapura, among other places where the 'Tillu' gang is operational, reported ANI.
According to NIA reports, Neeraj Bawana, and his gang are responsible for killing prominent individuals on purpose and instigating terror on social media.
According to sources, Neeraj Bawana and his gang are presently engaged in a gang conflict with Lawrence Bishnoi. After Sidhu Moose Wala was killed, Neeraj Bawana declared that they would exact revenge on the killers and take legal action against the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
