New Delhi: Brad Pitt is not new to controversy.
Recently, his newly-launched gender-fluid skincare line La Domaine received huge criticism over the pricing of its products that people say are “highly expensive”.
According to independent.co.uk, the 58-year-old is selling his range of serums, creams, and lotions at exorbitant prices as compared to similar products. As per the website, a 30 ml facial serum costs $385 (Rs 31,000) and a moisturising cream costs $320 (Rs 26,000).
The refills of the products can be purchased for a wide range that begins from $260 (Rs 21,000) and $350 (Rs 28,000).
Earlier this week, Pitt officially unveiled the brand, which features products made from grapes selected from a French vineyard.
"I mean, I'm the kind of person who will change hotel rooms if I can smell the cologne of the last person who stayed there. It's too much. It's too strong. Keep it subtle," added Pitt. "Let people come to you. Don't force it on others. That's my feeling," Pitt told British Vogue while launching the products.
The pricing has led to a trail of baffling reactions on social media, with the majority of people calling out Pitt's unreasonable rates.
“Genderless seems to mean over 10 times the price of a similar product,” a user tweeted.
Another netizen mentioned, "Judging by recent product launches, 350 Euros for “The serum”, Brad Pitt?!”
According to the website of La Domaine, the skincare line focuses extensively on "green beauty". The range features refillable products, upcycled packaging materials, and formulas that are between 96-99 per cent natural origin and vegan-friendly.
