The second season of Indian Matchmaking started streaming on the OTT platform this month and it is already generating plenty of attention. Viewers are excited to watch Sima Taparia from Mumbai back on the screen with some intriguing suggestions for potential matches for her clients.
Sima aunty recently made headlines for mentioning star couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas in one of her episodes. She used them as an example while talking to one of her clients, Nadia who was getting interested in Vishal - a guy seven years younger than her.
She further mentioned that the power couple did not suit each other, "But I don't feel it's a good match. Sorry to tell you that. They have married, but it's not a good match. He looks so small and petite in front of her, and she looks elder."
And now in a recent interview, Taparia gave a clarification on her statement while saying that it was just a 'casual discussion' between her and Nadia. Talking about the couple, she said, "Everyone’s entitled to do what they want, and if they're happy then I'm happy for them and wish them the best."

Sima further talked about the process of receiving clients for their show and mentioned how people would sometimes write emails or call her saying "I want to be in Season 3". She also spoke about how the production companies conduct thorough background checks on them and accordingly select those who are seriously willing to settle down in life.
Netflix's Indian Matchmaking released its trailer for season 2 in July, and since then it has received a series of mixed reactions from its viewers.
While some called the show 'exciting', showcasing their eagerness to look at the new clients with their unique preferences and stories, others found it to be 'cringe' and 'problematic'.
