The duo of Pushkar and Gayathri who are also behind the Amazon Prime Video thriller series Suzhal: The Vortex are the directors of the upcoming film Vikram Vedha. The film will see Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan pitted against each other. The director-duo have now spoken about working with the two high-profile celebrities.
Directors Pushkar-Gayathri open up on working with Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan for Vikram Vedha
One of the most-anticipated films of 2022 has to be Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan starrer Vikram Vedha. The film, being directed by Pushkar and Gayathri, is a remake of their own Tamil film of the same name. The crime thriller is based on the popular Indian folktale Vikram Aur Betal and narrates the story of a tough police officer, played by Saif, who sets out to track down and hunt a menacing gangster, played by Hrithik.
The duo of Pushkar and Gayathri who are also behind the Amazon Prime Video thriller series Suzhal: The Vortex had directed the original. way back in 2017 with R Madhavan as the cop and Vijay Sethupathi as the gangster. The shoot of Vikram Vedha commenced in October 2021. The film has been shot at various locations such as Abu Dhabi, Lucknow and Mumbai.

Now, in an exclusive interaction with Zoom Digital, Pushkar and Gayathri have opened up on their experience working with Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan for the film's remake.
Speaking about their experience, Pushkar said, “It was a wonderful experience. They are the sweetest people to work with.”
He went on to add, “We got along with them really well, however, both of them are like chalk and cheese.”
Ask him how, the director elaborated, “Saif is like this person who is cracking jokes and having a good time and he comes in front of the camera and becomes a raging bull. Hrithik on the other hand is someone who is very into the character. He imbibes the characteristics through the shooting process. Then he comes on to the camera and gives this wonderful performance.”
Gayathri added, “Working with them has been, in a lot of ways an eye opener for us also. In terms of preparations, the different ways of looking scene. So much prep goes into each and every scene with them, along with the variations they bring about was an eye opener.”
The director duo is also on cloud nine for the amazing response they have received for their latest outing Suzhal: The Vortex on Amazon Prime. The investigative thriller series stars Kathir, Aishwarya Rajesh, R Parthiban and Sriya Reddy in pivotal roles. The film is also one of veteran actor Yusuf Hussain's last outings.
