Yash's KGF: Chapter 2 crosses Rs 1,000 crore mark in India, second film to achieve this feat after Baahubali 2

Prashanth Neel’s KGF: Chapter 2 is having a dream run at the box office. The Yash-starrer, which has grossed over Rs. 1,200 crore worldwide and still counting, has amassed Rs. 1,000 crore from the Indian market alone. It is only the second film after Baahubali 2 to achieve this rare feat.

Yash's KGF: Chapter 2 has set another record at the box office. It is now the second Indian film to collect over Rs. 1,000 crore from the Indian market after SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2.
Entertainment industry tracker Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to reveal that KGF 2 has breached the Rs. 1000 crore mark in India. “#KGFChapter2 has grossed ₹ 1,000 cr at the domestic India Box office. Only 2nd movie, after #Baahubali2 to achieve this rare feat (sic),” Ramesh tweeted.
KGF: Chapter 2 on Monday (May 16) was made available on Amazon Prime via pay-per-view model. It was officially announced via a poster.
KGF 2 marked the southern debut of Sanjay Dutt, who played the primary antagonist. It was while shooting for KGF 2 that Sanjay was diagnosed with cancer, and he left shooting midway for his treatment and returned to complete the project. Yash had said that he was in awe of Sanjay Dutt's dedication. The film also stars Raveena Tandon in a crucial role.
KGF: Chapter 2 had the widest release for a Kannada film in over 10,000 screens worldwide. It was also dubbed and released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
Recently, reports emerged that the third chapter in the franchise will be released in 2024 as the makers are gearing up to commence shooting next year. However, the film's executive producer Karthik Gowda took to Twitter to clarify that they won't be commencing work on KGF: Chapter 3 anytime soon.
"The news doing the rounds are all speculation. With a lot of exciting projects ahead of us , we @hombalefilms will not be starting #KGF3 anytime soon. We will let you know with a bang when we start the work towards it (sic)," Karthik had tweeted.
