After a dispute, the spouse of a DMK councillor was seen on camera pursuing and attempting to attack people with a machete. The man is seen standing and fighting with a group of individuals in the footage when all of a sudden he grabs the machete and tries to assault them. When the men notice the weapon, they begin to flee, and he pursues them. The man, identified as Vetrichelvan, who attacked Nithya, a DMK councilwoman from South Thathamangalam in Manachanellur block, was located. Nithya is married to Vetrichelvan. The quarrel started because Vetrichelvan had borrowed Rs 2.60 lakh from Gunasekara and had not paid it back.
