To celebrate the 75 years of India's Independence, the Indian 'Young Scientists' organization - Space Kidz India unfurled the Indian Flag 30 kilometers or 1,06,000 ft above the Earth, near space.
The unfurling of the Indian flag was part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, "This is a mark of respect and tribute to all the freedom fighters and pride to people who are struggling hard to make India Proud everyday." said SpaceKidzIndia in a social media post.

SpaceKidzIndia aims to create International experiential learning for students in the field of science, Technology, Art, and Culture. They were the 1st organization in the World to have launched Satellites through high school and college students. Also Ambassadors to the "NASA", "ESA" and "GCTC Russia" Space Camps, and Pioneers in organizing International workshops.
Recently, the organization launched a satellite into Low Earth Orbit. The AzadiSAT project was developed by 750 girl students across the country to commemorate 75 years of independence. Although the satellite was lost due to orbital issues, as it was not placed in a circular orbit around the planet by the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) that launched it into space, the organization managed to design an ecosystem to create small satellites.
Messages from Space have been pouring in for India's 75th Independence day, astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti sent her best wishes to India and ISRO from International Space Station. Indian American astronaut Raja Chari congratulated India and ISRO, He also shared images of India and Hyderabad taken from the Space Station.
