Rajasthan: Congress leaders make beeline to meet Jalore victim's family as BJP mounts pressure on Gehlot govt

Congress leaders have been meeting Jalore victim's family

Jaipur: A host of Congress leaders from Rajasthan have been making a beeline to meet the family of the Dalit boy who was allegedly beaten to death for touching a drinking water pot. Meanwhile, the BJP continues to pile pressure on the Ashok Gehlot government in the state for letting such incidents happen under its nose.
Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Sing Dotasra met the victim's family and assured them all the necessary help from the state government. While speaking to media, he condemned the incident and said both Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are anguished at the death of the boy and directed the state leadership to do everything in its power to help the grieving family.
Congress leader and former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot also reached Jalore to meet the boy's kin. He said that Congress party has always stood with people of all castes and backgrounds, and whenever such incidents happen, it ensures justice is delivered to them.
He also urged the Rajasthan government to provide maximum financial support to the family and make sure their appeals are heard and addressed.
Meanwhile, apex child rights body NCPCR has sought strict action by the Rajasthan government against those responsible for allegedly beating to death the nine-year-old Dalit boy for touching a drinking water pot.

Police have arrested the teacher, Chail Singh, 40, and charged him with murder and under sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
