Hyderabad: Four-day Garden Nursery Mela opens at People's Plaza

The 12th edition of Garden Nursery Mela, a four-day-long fair has opened in Hyderabad's People's Plaza on Necklace road. The fair will remain open between 11 am to 9 pm till August 22.

Hyderabad: Telangana Finance and Health Minister Harish Rao launched the 12th edition of four-day-long All India Horticulture, Agriculture, and Grand Nursery Mela at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road on Thursday.
The event, which will go on till August 22, will see more than 140 stalls set up from different cities in the country.
Gardening/ botany enthusiasts can visit the nursery mela to learn about different gardening methods, varied plant collections, and trends in terrace gardens, vertical gardens, and home gardens among other things.
The fair will remain open to the public for 10 hours from 11 am to 9 pm.
Rao urged people to visit the mela and utilise the opportunity to get in the know about different gardening-related trends and practices.
Meanwhile, the Sunday-Funday events at Tank Bund and Ek Shaam Charminar Ke Naam events will be held on a large scale this weekend on August 21, marking the end of Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu celebrations in the city.
Musical band performances, cultural activities, and games will be organised at these locations and the platform has also been opened to artists and musicians who want to showcase their talent at the events.
“Aug 21st (Sunday) – Sunday Funday at Tank Bund & Ek sham Charminar ke Naam to conclude Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu. Come with friends & family for a relaxed enjoyable evening. Artists/musicians welcome to come & display their talent (sic),” tweeted Urban Development Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar.
These events were revived, after a gap of two years due to the pandemic, on August 14, 2022, ahead of the 76th Independence Day celebrations.
