Sequentially weak set of numbers expected for Coal India this quarter. Revenues could come in at around 30600 cr; down 6% QoQ. Margins could contract by about 150 bps. PAT could come in at 4617 cr; down 31% QoQ. For Q1FY23E, Coal India reported coal offtake of 178 million tonne (MT), up 11% YoY but down 1% QoQ. Higher dispatches at 177mt (+10% YoY and -2% QoQ) vs production at 160mt (+29% YoY and -24% QoQ) during 1QFY23 was driven by the surge in demand for power arising because of heat waves across different parts of India.Read More
