Actor and director R Madhavan, who is busy promoting his upcoming film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, has been making headlines for his factually incorrect remarks. A few days ago, he faced criticism online for saying that the Panchang was used by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to launch the Mars Orbiter Mission. Now, it is his quote on the number of Indian Twitter users.
Recently, Madhavan stated that only 25 lakh people in India use the micro-blogging site. Reacting to this, a netizen called him out and wrote, "Madhavansplaining: This @ActorMadhavan is spewing non-stop nonsense to promote his film and it is only getting more and more laughable with every passing day. Isn't there any other way to promote his film than this?"
The actor responded to the Twitter user with a tweet admitting that he made a mistake because he was "exhausted and sleep-deprived." His tweet read, "Easy bro.. you are a sportsman.. I am exhausted sleep deprived .so said less than 25lakhs instead of 250 lakhs .. but the point was it still less that 1.7% of the population - which was my point .. why so much venom bro.. not good for your sport .. .”
The netizen who called him out has now deleted the tweet.
Recently, Madhavan had taken to Twitter to acknowledge the error about Almanac and Panchang. He wrote, “I deserve this for calling the Almanac the “Panchang” in tamil. Very ignorant of me. Though this cannot take away for the fact that what was achieved with just 2 engines by us in the Mars Mission. A record by itself. @NambiNOfficial Vikas engine is a rockstar."
Meanwhile, talking about his film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will hit the screens on July 1, 2022.
