Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan's Startling Statement At The Times Now Summit | Breaking News

At the Times Now Summit 2022 on Friday, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan spoke about the function of governors in democracies and why they are frequently at the centre of controversy. In response to the current dispute between the Kerala government and the governor, Khan stated that in any democracy, the authority granted to a particular party or individual should be guided by the Constitution and not by the person in position of power. "In a democracy like ours, in which we take great pride, it is the rule of the law and not the ruler," said Kerala Governor Khan at the New Delhi-based Times Now Summit. He was talking to Times Now's editor in chief, Rahul Shivshankar. Attacking the Kerala chief minister and his cabinet, who have been accused of meddling in political and other state-related affairs, Khan challenged the Pinnarayi Vijayan administration to provide one piece of evidence demonstrating its involvement in any matter that does not concern a governor as required by the constitution. He further added that, “They were forcing me to sign documents and orders that according to me were downright illegal and would be considered irregular in any respectable democracy. I became so exasperated by the continued irregularities that I attempted to resign and then they came at me with all kinds of allegations".#TimesNowSummit #KeralaGuvArifMohammadKhan #ShockingStatement
