Jaipur: Rajasthan minister Rajendra Singh Gudha on Tuesday extended support to former state deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot. He compared Pilot with Mahabharta's Abhimanyu. Gudha advocated for appointing Pilot the next Chief Minister of the state.
Gudha claimed that there was a conspiracy against the former deputy CM of the state. "If 5 MLAs going to Manesar can be made ministers, why can't Pilot be made the CM?" said the Rajasthan minister as quoted by IANS.
Gudha made these remarks while attending a programme in Udaipurwati. "As Abhimanyu was killed by a conspiracy of big masters in Mahabharata, a similar plot has been chalked out against Pilot," Gudha said.
In a veiled attack against Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi and state Cm Ashok Gehlot, the state minister stated that those who had the right to end the membership of the MLAs conspired against Pilot.
"If the MLAs do not listen to the Chief Whip, then the membership goes away. However, those who have the right to end the membership of the MLAs conspired against Pilot and became a party to the other side," Gudha said.
The Rajasthan minister questioned why Pilot could not be made the CM of the state. "The language used for Pilot is wrong. When all people made him a target, I couldn't stop myself. I said this is wrong. Those who went to Delhi with Pilot entered the other camp and you made these five MLAs as ministers, then why can't Pilot be made the CM?" Gudha added.
The political crisis erupted in Rajasthan after Gehlot announced contesting the Congress presidential polls. Gehlot was scheduled to file his nomination papers on September 28. As per reports, Pilot was to be announced as the next Rajasthan CM. However, Gehlot's loyal MLAs handed over their resignation to the Assembly Speaker against any move to make Pilot the next CM. Later, Gehlot announced not to contest the party presidential polls.
