The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri launched a fresh jibe at Congress leader Shahishi Tharoor, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and actor-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna for their ‘disparaging’ comments on his controversial film after a terrorist leader from Jammu and Kashmir Yasin Malik pleaded guilty in a terror-funding case.
Calling them ‘genocide deniers’, the director asked if they will still term the film as ‘Islamophopbic and half-truth’ after the terrorist leader pleaded guilty before NIA court on Tuesday (May 10). Recently, the court had ordered the framing of charges against several separatist leaders including Yasin.
The director tweeted, “Dear Genocide Deniers, Still want to call it ISLAMOPHOBIC and half-truth? Dear @ShashiTharoor and @ArvindKejriwal, Still feel like laughing? Dear star-wife, Still wanna make nail-files?हम देखेंगे.”
“Finally, the justice will be done. This is the other side of the story. I am grateful to god to have helped me play a small role in getting justice for my brothers and sisters. I hope NOW Genocide Deniers will let us live in peace and let us heal,” Vivek Agnihotri had tweeted.

The Kashmir Files had been the centre of debate ever since its release. Firstly, BJP-ruled states declared the film tax-free. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had then questioned the move and suggested the makers to upload the movie on YouTube so that maximum people can watch it for free.
A fresh row began when Shahi Tharoor commented on Singapore’s fresh ban on the film wherein his late wife Sunanda Pushkar’s name was also mentioned. He then issued a statement which read, “Dragging my late wife Sunanda into this matter was unwarranted and contemptible. No one is more aware of her views than I am....One thing I know unlike those attempting to exploit her when she is not around to speak for herself: She believed in reconciliation, not hate.”

The Kashmir Files is based on the life of Kashmiri pandits during the 1990 Kashmir insurgency.
