70-year-old man dies by jumping before Metro in Gurugram, leaves suicide note

The deceased, who has been identified as Ramnarayan (70), was a native of Kanpur. He was staying in a rented accommodation in DLF Phase-2. Both the sons of the deceased live abroad, the police said.

Gurugram: A senior citizen committed suicide by jumping before a moving Metro train at the Guru Dronacharya Metro station on Friday.
The deceased, who has been identified as Ramnarayan (70), was a native of Kanpur. He was staying in a rented accommodation in DLF Phase-2, the police said. Both the sons of the deceased live abroad, the police said.
"Ramnarayan used to go out for a walk every evening. At around 5 pm on Friday, he went to the Guru Dronacharya Metro station and jumped in front of a train. He died on the spot," said a police officer.
On finding out his identity from his Aadhaar card, the police his family members.
"A suicide note was found in his pocket, which said that no one was responsible for him taking the extreme step. A post-mortem will be conducted on Saturday," said Gurugram Police spokesperson Subhash Boken.
