SS Rajamouli’s masterpiece RRR has put Indian cinema on the world map like no other film ever has. Starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr in the lead roles, RRR has taken Indian cinema to newer heights.
After having a record-breaking run at the worldwide box office, the epic action drama has been drawing the attention of various Hollywood celebs. And now, in yet another massive feat, RRR has become the first Indian film to bag a nomination for Best Picture at Hollywood Critics Association Midseason Awards.
The nominations for the prestigious awards ceremony, which is held twice a year, were announced on Wednesday, June 29. In the Best Picture category, RRR is competing with Hollywood biggies such as Top Gun: Maverick, The Batman, Elvis, Turning Red, and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, among others.

The fans of RRR are thrilled with the achievement and are showing their excitement by sharing the big news across different social media platforms.
Meanwhile, RRR has emerged as the most popular Indian film on Netflix around the world. The film also garnered praise from the likes of Hollywood comedian and actor Patton Oswalt, Doctor Strange co-writer C. Robert Cargill, and DC's Batman Beyond and Marvel Comics' Captain America writer Jackson Lanzing.
While Patton Oswalt took to Twitter to write, “If this ISN’T playing near you in IMAX then this is the next best way to watch it. Fucken @RRRMovie is insane," C. Robert Cargill had said, “Friends came over last night to initiate me into the cult of RRR (RISE ROAR REVOLT) and I'm here to report I am now fully, truly, deeply a member. This is the craziest, most sincere, weirdest blockbuster I've ever seen. I'm pretty sure Jess and I are watching it again this week.”
Also featuring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, RRR narrates the story of two revolutionaries who fight against British colonialists in the 1920s.
