Indian shuttlers continued their impressive run in the 2022 Commonwealth Games as the likes of PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen, Aakarshi Kashyap, etc. progressed to the quarter-finals. Even the women's doubles and men's doubles pairs of Treesa Jolly/ Gayatri Gopichand and Satwik/Chirag book themselves a spot in the last 8.

As the Birmingham Games enter Day 9, all of these badminton stars would be looking to keep their hunt for a gold medal alive and book their spots in the tournament's semi-finals.

As far as the results on Day 8 go, Sindhu handed a thumping defeat to Uganda’s Husina Kobugabe without breaking much sweat. She won 21-10, 21-9 in her pre-quarterfinal match.

Srikanth, on the other hand, dind't have to do much either as he cruised to a 21-9, 21-12 win over Sri Lanka’s Dumindu Abeywickrama.

Sen, a world championships bronze medallist, was too good for Australia's Ying Xiang Lin, while Aakarshi Kashyap also dominated Cypruse' Eva Kattirtzi 21-2, 21-7.

The pairing of Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand and Chirag Shetty-Satwiksairaj Rankireddy also cruised into their respective quarter-finals.
