Negligence by Bengaluru civic body claims yet another life in Bengaluru. One person falls into the open drain and dies. Days after the Accident The drain is still open, putting hundreds of residents at risk. Venkatesh K, a 31-year-old from Chitradurga, was deceased. He was operating a tractor at a Nelagadaranahalli construction site. Around 11.30 p.m. on Sunday, Venkatesh was walking by the roadside in T Dasarahalli in Peenya when he slipped into an open drain and died. Passersby unsuccessfully attempted to save Venkatesh. The slabs were removed to desilt the drain three months ago, but the drain was not covered once the work was finished, according to the police, who have filed a case against an assistant engineer and three other authorities.
