Deepika Padukone has been taking power dressing to new heights as the headliner of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, which is now underway. The actress is a member of the main competition's jury, and she looked stunning in a Sabyasachi couture saree at the opening day red carpet ceremony. Well, let’s just say she has upped the style stakes on the second day too.
Deepika Padukone was seen at the Indian Pavilion Inauguration along with Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur and others. The actress donned a black power suit and rounded off her look with a stunning Cartier necklace. She kept her makeup minimal with bold red lips and did her hair in a messy low bun leaving a few strands loose.
India is also the official country of honour at the Cannes Film Market, with six films in various regional languages being shown over the next few days. "I think what we should be talking about is the celebration of India. The celebration of Indian talent and cinema," when questioned about her role on the Cannes jury, Deepika told PTI.
Along with fellow members of the jury French actor Vincent Lindon, the president, English actor-filmmaker Rebecca Hall, Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, Swedish actor Noomi Rapace, Italian actor-director Jasmine Trinca, French filmmaker-actor Ladj Ly, American filmmaker Jeff Nichols, and Norwegian director-screenwriter Joachim Trier, the Indian actress will be judging films in the Competition.
The festival is ongoing and will end on May 25.
