Bengaluru: 83-year-old woman calls police after sensing life threat; found dead at home later

Bengaluru: In yet another horrific incident, an elderly woman was found dead at her residence on Saturday in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout 1 area. The 83-year-old woman had called the cops multiple times and alleged that she faces the threat of being murdered.
Jayashree has been recognized as the deceased victim. According to police sources, the deceased 83-year-old woman had made repeatedly called the police station seeking protection, alleging that she was about to be murdered, news agency IANS reported.
The jurisdictional police had arranged for a police beat near her residence in response to her request. However, she could not be saved from the killers.
Jayashree lived at Bengaluru's HSR Layout 1 stage with her husband Srinivas. After her husband died, she preferred to remain alone in the house he had constructed.
The deceased widow is left by her two sons, one of whom lives overseas and the other at Lingarajapuram. She owned a four-story building, three houses were rented out, and she resided in one of them, IANS reported.
According to police investigations, she was allegedly murdered late on Friday night. Her diamonds have been stolen by the attackers. The security guard is also absconding, and authorities accused him of being involved in the alleged crime. A renter discovered the corpse and reported it to the cops. Further inquiry into the case is underway.
