Mumbai logs 882 new Covid-19 cases; one death, 464 recoveries reported

Mumbai saw 882 fresh Covid-19 cases on Sunday while one death due to the infection was reported. The tally of active cases in the city is at 5,041 while 464 patients have recovered from the disease.

Mumbai: The metropolis on Sunday recorded 882 Covid-19 cases, which took the tally of cases in the city to 11,32,588, while with one patient succumbing to the infection, the death toll in the city touched 19,664.
Of the 882 new cases, only 57 were symptomatic, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said.
The number of recoveries increased by 464 and stood at 11,07,883, leaving the city with 5,041 active cases.
So far, 1,79,50,187 coronavirus tests have been carried out in Mumbai, including 8,945 in the last 24 hours.
Data from the civic corporation showed the recovery rate was 97.8 per cent while the overall growth rate in cases between August 7 and 13 stood at 0.057 per cent.
The caseload doubling time stood at 1,213 days, as per BMC data.
Mumbai on Saturday logged 867 COVID-19 cases, which took the tally to 11,31,706, while the death toll stood unchanged at 19,663 yesterday.
Before this, on August 10 and 12, the addition to the tally had breached the 800-mark with 852 and 871 cases respectively, an official had pointed out.
Of the 867 new cases yesterday, only 53 were symptomatic, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official said while the recovery rate rose by 486 and touched 11,07,419, leaving the metropolis with 4,624 active cases, the official said.
