Mumbai: For the first time in the Mumbai Fire Brigade, two women officers were promoted from Assistant Central Officers to Central Officers.
Among the 23 officers transferred, Shubhangi Mandle Bhore and Sunita Patil Khot have been assigned the responsibility of Wadala and Byculla as Central Officers of the Fire Station.

After starting the admission process for women officers in Mumbai Fire Force, three women officers were selected. At that time, these women officers opened entry doors for women into the force for the first time.
Fire brigade is a test of mental and physical abilities. In a city like Mumbai, a case of fire or any other accident, the critical work of first going to the scene and carrying out rescue work is done by the fire brigade. At that time, the officers and employees of the force are at the forefront of the rescue work without caring for their own lives.
Shubhangi Mandle Bhore said, "we. Every call we receive is equally important. She also remembers the fire on the 11th floor of Mahalakshmi. Three people were trapped on the 12th floor when the fire broke out. It was a challenging task to get them out of the building safely."
She also mentioned that now the responsibility has increased as a Central Officer and she will also render good service in the next period.
Sunita Patil Khot is a native of Mumbai and has done her Masters' degree in Chemistry from Khalsa College. A sports enthusiast, Patil Khot cleared the fire brigade entrance exam and was included in the 2012 batch. She said, "tough training has strengthened her mental and physical abilities. After the training, her first experience of extinguishing a fire in the ministry." After that, she told about many incidents like the fire in the Crystal Tower and the team's safe escape of 13 people.
The fire brigade is capable of dealing with emergencies. Both officers have said that more women should join the fire brigade.
