Comedian Kunal Kamra criticises The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri for not donating film's earnings, netizens react

Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files is continuing with its successful run at the box office. After winning praises for the hard-hitting portrayal of the real-life stories of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to leave their homes and killed in 1990 exodus, the film left cash registers ringing. Recently, it hit yet another milestone and entered the Rs 200 crore club. Despite a slow start at the box office, it has turned out to be one of the most successful films post pandemic.

After the film crossed double century at the box office, comedian Kunal Kamra took an uncalled jibe at Vivek Agnihotri. Sharing a clip, he wrote, "Desh ke liye jaan dene ke liye ready hai par desh ke logo ko paise dene ke liye nahi…"

The video shows Vivek replying to a reporter who asked him if the film's earnings will be donated to Kashmiri Pandits. "Kamayi hogi tab baat karenge," he can be heard saying in the video. When the media person points out that the film is doing fairly well in terms of business, Vivek says, "Aapko aisa lagraha hai, yeh galat fehmi hai aapki."

The post left tweeple furious and several netizens clapped back at him for his post. A user wrote, "Did Sanjay Leela Bhansali give the profits of Gangubai for betterment of the lives of prostitutes? Was the money earned from Chak De used to improve the condition of the women's hockey team? Mandir bana nahi ki aa gaye katora leke bheek mangne." Another person re-tweeted a post that read: "How much Dangal Maker donated to Women Wrestlers ??? How much Chak De maker donated to the Indian Women’s hockey team? How much Mary Kom maker donated to the Women’s boxing team?? How much Sultan maker donated to freestyle wrestlers ??? Answer is same - ZERO"
