Popular Bollywood singer KK who has been ruling the charts for the last three decades died on May 31 at Kolkata. The singer was 53 at the time of his death. Following his death, a number of celebrities expressed their sorrow and paid their last respects. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the first to offer condolences.

Popular Bollywood singer KK who has been ruling the charts for the last three decades is dead. The singer was 53. KK gave a performance at Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata on Tuesday and later went back to his hotel, where he fell ill. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
As per reports, KK was not feeling comfortable after his live and went back to the hotel, where he collapsed as soon as he entered the room. Repeated attempts to revive him failed. He was then rushed to hospital. Vernacular reports stated that fans wanted to click pictures with him. However, since he was feeling unwell, he did not entertain his fans. His health started deteriorating and he was taken to the hospital.
Following his death, a number of celebrities expressed their sorrow and paid their last respects. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the first to offer condolences, writing, "Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti."

“Extremely sad and shocked to know of the sad demise of KK. What a loss! Om Shanti,” shared Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar.

Noted Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee expressed shock, writing, "Shocked! An unforgettable voice... KK will live in our hearts forever. Deepest condolences to his family, friends and well wishers."

Singer Adnan Sami shared, "I can’t process this… Utter Shock & Disbelief… My Heart Is Crying… #RIPKK"

Riteish Deshmukh penned, "KK no more !!! I am failing to make sense of people leaving the world at such young age. Deeply saddened- he was a great guy and fabulous singer- huge loss to the music world - Deepest condolences to the family and loved ones. 🙏🏽 Om Shanti."

Ace filmmaker Karan Johar tweeted, "Heartbreaking news on the sudden passing away of such an incredible talent…. RIP KK…💔 the entertainment world has lost a true artist today….Om Shanti 🙏"

Abhishek Bachchan tweeted, "This is such shocking and sad news. KK, thank you for sharing your talent with us all. Gone too soon. Rest in harmony!"

Born in Delhi, KK released his first album, Pal in 1999. The singer-composer, whose real name was Krishnakumar Kunnath then went on to give Bollywood hits such as Tadap Tadap, Dus Bahane and Tune Maari Entriyaan.
