South film Karthikeya 2's Hindi dubbed version is doing wonders at the box office, even as Bollywood biggies Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kunar's Raksha Bandhan falter at the box office. The film started creating the right noise early on, showing 300 per cent growth by Day 2.

Even as two of Bollywood's biggies falter at the box office, South film Karthikeya 2's Hindi dubbed version is doing wonders at the box office. While initially, the film faced difficulty in getting screens owing to maximum screen count going to Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan, dismal performance by the two has in turn become a boon to the Telugu adventure thriller by Chandoo Mondeti.
For the unversed, the film is a sequel to the 2014 Karthikeya and stars Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran, and Anupam Kher. The film sees Nikhil essay the role of Dr Karthikeya, who believes in science and logic and goes to the ancient city of Dwaraka, where he gets embroiled in the murder case of an archaeological researcher.

The film started creating the right noise early on, with film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeting that the Hindi dubbed version, despite releasing on a Saturday and facing giants like LSC and RB, and being showcased in very few screens showed 300 per cent growth on Day 2.
Notably, the film had 157 shows on debut, which rose to 245 shows on Sunday and 274 shows on Monday. Subsequently, the film witnessed remarkable growth on Day 3, with word of mouth playing a pivotal role in changing the fortune of the film, raking in Rs 1.45 crore.
Fortune seems to have favoured the film, further still as per the latest tweet by Taran Adarsh, which hints at the film almost doubling in business on Day 4. Adarsh tweeted, "#Karthikeya2 [#Hindi] is akin to sunshine in an otherwise gloomy scenario... Day-wise growth is an eye-opener... Sat 7 lacs, Sun 28 lacs, Mon 1.10 cr [holiday], Tue 1.28 cr [partial holiday]. Total: ₹ 2.73 cr. #India biz. HINDI version."

As the film outshines the big Bollywood releases at ticket windows, fans are all praises for the entertainer. One person wrote, "Houseful shows in #Tirupati for #Karthikeya2.
